Back Fat

I have less of it today than I did a couple of weeks ago. I think the increase in my back fat was one of the biggest things that pushed me to take action and make a commitment to lose weight.

The feeling of parts of my body touching that shouldn’t touch made me feel terrible. When I sit down, I don’t want to feel parts of my torso rubbing together. That’s just not what I want for my body and I can do something about changing it.

Today is TJ’s birthday and I’ll be making one of her favorite meals for dinner tonight. We’ll all enjoy it and we’ll eat it while being mindful of how much we’re eating. And we’ll feel good about it when the meal is over. We’re not dieting – and that’s an important point – we’re eating pretty much whatever we want. We’re just paying attention to how much we’re eating and thinking about food and drink before we put anything into our mouths. I think that’s the key. We don’t feel deprived and are less likely to binge.

I tend to rush right on in and take on too much at once but, this time, I’m going slowly and taking it one day at a time.

Please enjoy today’s motivational photo.
