Having grown up in Wisconsin, I love spending time in the woods. It seems that for the past few years, our weekends have been hectic and we’re tired and we don’t ever take the time to get out and enjoy nature. I’m also trying to lose some weight and be more healthy. And Micah needs to get outside and run off some of his 6 year old energy and learn about the beauty of nature. And the dogs need to get out more. And, well, there are just so many reasons why we will be spending more time outdoors this year.
I decided that our first outing should be moderately easy. I usually get overly excited and try to do more than I should. Of course, that leads to never trying again because we all remember how much of a nightmare the first outing was. Well, I was determined that wouldn’t happen. I searched around online and found an isolated, little known, 1.5 mile round trip hike. The weather was perfect, the site was gorgeous, and, after an hour, we were all happy and ready to head back. Here are a few pics from the trip. I think you have to log in to see them.
We plan to do many more hikes this summer and fall. We’re hoping some of them can be with friends and family. Let us know if you want to join us. We’ll do them either Saturday or Sunday mornings.
Hope you all enjoyed the weekend. We sure did.
