Nearly Over
This past week of being on vacation has been great. I’ll admit to missing my interactions with a few people at work – you know who you are – but mostly I blocked everything UHC related from my mind. And it felt so good. We picked up a few lottery tickets yesterday just hoping that neither of us will ever have to go back.
I skipped yoga today. My knee has been aching all week and I think I’m going to have to rethink my running routine. I may need to stick to hiking and walking and weights. I’m ok with that. Maybe I’ll mix in some running after I build up my knees with weight training.
I had planned to begin learning about Tai Chi while on vacation but didn’t get around to doing anything I considered before the week started. My dad sent me a book that looks very user-friendly and I still have every intention of using it. I also have a novel that my sister-in-law, Molly, loaned me that still sits unread. And beta work for two authors waiting for me. And a fish tank that is in desperate need of a cleaning.
Honestly though, I don’t feel bad about any of it. This past week was about relaxing and doing only what I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it. I spent more time on facebook and around the city than I have in months. And virtually no time at all feeling stressed. So, all things considered, vacation was an incredible success. I can’t wait for the next one.
