I’m at the middle, if I’m lucky. You’ve been with me for most of it. I hardly remember the time before you, before us. I can’t imagine a time in the future without you. We’re so much a part of each other.
We’re parents now. Who would have ever thought it? We have a beautiful son who is both of us, together. As wild and unstable as we had been, I never thought that we’d ever get to the point we are now.
We have a long history. It’s filled with love, hate, confusion, sex, alcohol, infidelity, drugs, fear, dedication, fights, break ups, reunions, insecurity, understanding, instability, compassion, and commitment. We are stronger because of our past. We are better because of our struggles. We are one, a family, a single unit.
