It’s a little after 11pm and I’m getting ready to turn off the computer and go to sleep. The alarm is set for 5:30 – 45 minutes later than when TJ’s home. She’s up north for the night. Working hard to try to save an account for her job. She’s their ace in the hole. She can schmooze anyone. It’s a gift. She doesn’t do it in a sleezy way, but by being genuinely helpful and bending over backward to make the customer happy. It’s an incredible thing to watch. Middle and upper management recognize it and work her to death. Of course, they promise her the moon but rarely deliver much more than dust. But, to be honest, she loves being the best at whatever she does. I’ve watched her do so many different types of jobs – Marine, contract administrator/EEOC/VP of a multi-million dollar government contracting company, stock day-trader, production lead, and many others – and she just blows people away.
You know, I just love her so much. Come this January, we’ll have been together for 20 years. I have been in love with her for more than half of my life. I’m going to sleep now. I want to dream about my wife.
