Proud to be an American – Finally

It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to say that. A really long time. Thank you, American people, for doing the right thing. No matter who you were or what your personal background, the majority of you did the right thing.

For the first time in many years, I am hopeful. Barack Obama isn’t the answer to all of my prayers but he’s the closest thing to it that was on a ballot. Maybe before I’m dead, we’ll have a government that will recognize the legality of my marriage. Maybe not. Who can say. I am, after all, getting long in the tooth. Sorry, I’m feeling pretty badly for my brothers and sisters in California that took advantage of same-sex marriage being legal for the short time it was. Now the status of their unions are up in the air. I just get so tired of people debating and legislating my personal life. I think gay folks should stop paying taxes until we get the same benefits as heterosexuals. So, will you all write to me when they haul me off to prison for tax evasion? Please?

Alright, I’ve got to go do some laundry. Go watch the latest episode of Off Topic. Erin gets chemical burns in her pubic region. It’s really very funny. I haven’t posted it here yet but it’s over at MySpace just waiting for you to view it. Don’t disappoint the video. It has a very fragile ego.
