Leavin’ on a Jet Plane

My wife left for Dallas, again, this morning. As soon as the door closed and she walked down the driveway to the waiting car, I felt an empty spot inside me. She’ll be back Friday but it seems such a long time from now.

After she left, Micah and I finished getting ready for school and work. I stopped at a new Starbucks that’s on our way and got a coffee for me and an orange juice for The Boy. When I dropped him off, we shared a few nice kisses and good strong hugs. He misses her when she’s gone, too. The last time she was out of town for a week, he had a difficult time of it. He acted out in school and just seemed “off” until she was back. The dogs mope around, too. We all miss her. But I don’t think anyone does like I do.

Be safe, sweetheart. I love you.
